You'Ve got 10th gen intel, smarts you've got nvidia's, rtx, 2060 gpu and all for precisely a penny under a grand and as an added bonus, it won't put you back out every time you lift the bugger up this past week, i've basically been gaming on the lenovo Legion 5i, when i should have been doing more sensible things like sleeping or spending time with my family, so here's, my full legion 5i review and from all the latest greatest tech, please do put subscribe and ding that notifications bell cheers now. First up, i really appreciate lenovo's smart design work like a lot of modern gaming machines. The legion 5i isn't some batshit crazy beast that more closely resembles a cyborg assassin from the future than an actual laptop. It doesn't even have a light up logo anywhere on the lid, which is pretty much obligatory for a game and laptop, possibly a shorn of impressive restraint, or probably just a cost cut measure. Your only colour option is this here: spookily named phantom black, which certainly sounds a lot more exciting than the actual dark rear reality. But at least the legion 5i will fit into an office environment quite as comfortably as a teenager's bedroom and as far as game and laptops go. This one definitely counts as portable it's might over two kilos. There'S. Безусловно, no problems whatsoever for the old guns here and it's reasonably slender too, so you can shove it in a good sized backpack at least it's, actually a pretty similar design to the rears of blade.
15 20 20 edition, except, конечно, it's got a far sexier back end seriously just check out that arse it's pure filth, if any laptop, could drop it like it's, hot it's. Definitely the legion 5i. The bulk of the ports are actually secreted around that back end. As well, which is quite rare to see, but it definitely helps to keep everything nice and tidy what you get here is four usb a 3.1 ports, one of which is always on you've, got usbc 3.1 with full display port support. So you can hook up a monitor or a vr kit or whatever go hdmi 2.0 and you've got ethernet as well. So basically, all of the stuff you could ever possibly need — and it is a bit of a shame — there's no thunderbolt action but again that's, most likely a cost cut and measure up above the display. You'Ve got a basic webcam with a privacy cover which is good to see, and it does the job just fine for skype and twitch and whatever. What i really enjoyed here on the legion 5i was that keyboard you've got some surprisingly deep travel on there, much better than most skinny rivals like the razer blade and is triton laptops as well. It'S pleasantly comfortable to type on it's, a nice firm, key action, and i love that the arrow keys are actually spaced. Apart from the rest of the keyboard, as well quite rare to see, i would have preferred a bit more space in between the number pad and the rest of the keyboard, but hey, oh and, как вы видете, it's just a straightforward white backlight in here on The lenovo legion 5i as well, no disc or funky themed, rgb action like you're, getting a lot of gaming laptops, which i guess just further emphasizes the more mature design work here on the legion.
Now all of the various different skews of the lenovo legion 5i. Sport, a 15.6 inch ips display with a full hd plus resolution. You got dolby vision, support on there and the contrast and color reproduction are definitely good for the price. You'Ve got full 99 of the srgb gamut covered and 75 of that adobe rgb. The contrast ratio on maximum brightness levels came back as 1140 в 1.. Those blacks definitely look pretty damn black, so no worries there, although unfortunately it is only 380 nits on that maximum brightness. So i did struggle to see what was going on outdoors. If i was trying to game or stream some video, i mean, while the 144 hertz refresh rate, makes your gaming sessions look super smooth, so it's definitely a match for most gaming rivals out there. As for your audio well it's a pair of stereo speakers here on the legion 5i, but they are housed on the side sort of firing downwards away from your face. Thankfully, on the top volume level, the clarity is pretty good and they're, certainly loud enough to be clearly heard over a loud environment and as usual, when i was gaming, i just slept on a headset anyway. Job done, you can tweak the audio output using the dolby atmos app, which comes pre installed on the legion. Otherwise, you can just leave the software to do its own thing. Choose the best settings, depending on what you're up to which i found it did the trick.
Lenovo'S vantage software allows you to knock that dolby support on or off, as well as toggling features like the network boost which prioritizes your online games over everything else. It also allows you to choose whether to prioritize performance or battery life it's, not as smart as some rival gaming suites from the likes of visa and asus, but it's definitely worth nipping into for a muzzy about now. Doesn'T matter. What skew you pick? You got! No choice of chipset with the legion 5i, they all use intel's 10th gen core i5 chipset, namely the 10300h and it's, backed by 8 gigs of ddr4 ram. And, конечно, the legion doesn't boast the same kind of grunt as more expensive rivals. But for this sort of price point you can't really grumble all my apps run smoothly. No troubles are all while multitasking, you can happily stream a movie in chrome, while editing photos do whatever you fancy and for any benchmark enthusiasts out there. Silly bench returner score of 2182, not bad at all. You do, however, get a choice of gpu with the legion 5i, and this here is the billy big bollocks model, with the rtx 2060 stuffed inside again, not the most beefy of cards that you can aspire to have, but it'll cope with a lot of the more Demanding games even on those higher detail levels, so i enjoyed a proper full on gaming session on doom on those ultra graphic settings and it stayed silky smooth, even with dozens of enemies, trying to add lots of fresh orifices to my battle, weary body.
That was the same result for resident evil 2, as well, even on the most demanding settings it played absolutely without a hitch. Stain nice and fresh and strange brigade also played perfectly again on those at a very maximum detail settings and when i run the benchmark there, it got an average 145 frames per second on the regular detail settings taking full advantage of that 144 hertz screen refresh rate. Although this did dip to around 101 кадров в секунду в среднем, on the ultra detail levels and again for any benchmark fans out there, the time spy 3d mark test puked up a score of 5778, a pretty standard score for a game and laptop meanwhile time spy. Xtreme churned out 2759 fire strike extreme managed to score of 7259, and the port royale test spanner a score of 3492. and good news. Few more creative types out there as well, because the legion 5i can handle video editor, no problem. Even when you're dealing with fairly large 4k sized files and the legion 5 ice, internal fans helped to keep the laptop nice and cool as well throughout even unhealthily. Long gaming sessions for the keyboard did start to get a bit warm after around half an hour or so, but not too bad that so he didn't get too hot to handle the majority of that warm air is ejected out of the legion's, sizeable arse so away From the gamer, the internal fans aren't too loud either, certainly compared with some rivals, and when i did a lot of stress testing in 3d mark, i found that it returned a result of around 99 stability, all of the time so there's, definitely no throttling or other Issues to worry about my legion 5i review sample came with a rather measly ssd it's, just 256 gigs in size.
When you consider a lot of modern games are close to 100 gigs in size. It'Ll only hold two or three of the buggers, especially when you get updates of like 10 20 30 гигабайты. Although that said, some of the skews of the legion 5i did offer double the storage space, which is a wee bit better and it's. A reasonably quick, solid state drive as well. Those read and write speeds were definitely well reported by crystal disk mark that's for the battery life. If anyone cares but it's actually not too terrible for a gaming laptop, i got just over 100 minutes of full on gaming action per charge, while the more sedate bit of web browsing or whatever gives you around three hours of battery time before you'll need to plug It back in with the obligatory massive brick sized adapter. So right there is. My review of the lenovo legion 5i. Certainly is bettered by quite a few gaming rivals that cost you know just a couple hundred quid more, but if your budget is proper, tight you've got literally a grand to spend and no more then it'll. Do the job it'll play the latest games on good, strong detail levels, no worries, and i love the design, especially the great keyboards, and that rather slick looking display so that's. What i think, definitely let me know your own thoughts if you've been gaming on the legion of five i'd be great to hear from you.
