  2. Intel should really think hard about naming skim
    I mean U,Y,H,E
Y is not “extrem low energy” and some misunderstood E for that instead of ECC memory support

  3. I’ll also be reviewing Xiaomi’s new second gen Mi Gaming Laptop, the i7 8750H + GTX 1060 model when down in New Zealand in a few weeks. But interesting to see if hey improved that over the top fan noise and thermals.

    1. i am on the verge of buying it haha make it quick or else i will have to buy the razer blade 15/msi gs65 🙁 which are both more expensive. Thanks

    2. I just opened my unit today. SSD is NVMe 256GB with very good speeds. But the fan noise is still to loud…
What I dont like about this laptop is that when I put my Win 10 Pro license key there is still some chinesse in settings and when you install some app it still detect chinesse localization (or something like that) and start installation with chinesse language. Then if I do clean Windows installation I can not install Mi Box app (for keyboard backlight customization, etc…) from their official site

  4. 5 comments and no one “Like”. If you are on this channel it means, most likely, that you like its videos. Therefore, at least, say “thanks” to him, and the only way you have to do so, it’s the “like”button. Furthermore, this will help the channel to produce more videos.
It looks like some people are too lazy. And this work for every channel, not just for this one.

  5. Did you do this review before or after the latest Windows 10 updates? I ask as my MSI GL62 6QF didn’t like that update at all. I had to reinstall nearer everything again to get it back working to how it should work but i’m still having issues with Nahimic software where it won’t auto start like normal and prompts me to start it. You might face these problems too if you do update

  6. I just look over the pccomponentes they had nice laptops most especially the hp omen at 900 euro ( 7th gen i7 but with 120 hz monitor) but no windows installed and spanish keyboard( that for me is something i get used to) have a check if you want

    1. Yeah I looked at their GL63 models, but they used TN 60hz panels and the keyboard for me is too annoying the Spanish one. But thanks, I buy a lot of gear from them.

  7. I own the previous GL62M model as well, I’m happy to see better performance and speakers in these new models, but I’m kinda sad they’re still going with the same angular gamer looks. It looks like a step backward to me. They could’ve made it look much more muted since other brands have moved on already. Personal preference, but this model could be improved further.

I don’t like seeing laptops with exhaust on the mouse hand side, my friend’s laptop does that and it’s really not comfortable to play demanding games while it’s baking my hand. Battery is still poor, touchpad is still lacking, and I don’t like the plastic finish either, I have to wipe it off everytime after I use it.

And man, you must’ve hit the lottery on your previous model, I had my keyboard replaced 2 times already. I can’t believe the keyboard issue still persists even after the refresh, makes this look like a forced model refresh to me.

For those out there who are looking to buy this laptop, sure. You’ll get good performance for the money, but personally I don’t think it’s worth it to skimp on the build quality, especially with the known keyboard problem. Just get the GE or GP series instead.

    Good review still 👍

    1. They keyboard is annoying that they know of the issue but still used it!! I agree on the looks they could have toned down the gamer look a bit. My space bar has improved a little from use and looks like I’ll get a replacement one. Do you know if the new ones have a switch on the edges as well as the middle?

    2. I don’t know about the switch on the spacebar, but if one is broken they’re probably gonna replace the whole keyboard + palm rest entirely since that’s what they did for mine. It used to have a rough-surfaced trackpad, now it’s replaced with a smooth plastic one.

  8. Good review. I purchased GL63 8RE-455IN version 2days ago, it came with same CPU i.e.8750H gtx1060, 16GB RAM & 128GB SSD. How did you undervolt? Is it safe? better thermals?

    1. Great buddy. I keep trying the whole day to get this laptop from amazon but sbi debit card payment keep getting failed again n again.
Later i ordered GV63 8RE from flipkart. On paper the specs seems to be the same. But i am curious to know what is the major difference between GL63 8RE and GV63 8RE. If you know something plz let me know. You may contact me on whats app 9873015214. As soon as my lappy arrives i will let you know about the details.

    2. +Hardeep Singh I can’t find your model on official website (mine isn’t showing either) but if hardware is same then there won’t be much of a difference in performance. Even I had trouble with SBI card for EMI. I purchased mine for 89990rs (one time payment). Earlier I was getting GL63 8RD (same CPU, 8gb RAM, 1050ti) for 94k at local store. But I got a pretty good deal on Amazon. I got 1060 and 16gb RAM in “8RE” model.

  9. We have international QWERTY keyboards here in The Netherlands so you can import it from here without paying import tax. I bought the Acer Helios 300 with 1060GTX and 16GB Ram for €1000 this summer.

  10. I have this laptop also, have you undervolted your cpu? what are the temps when gaming and do you have some random stutters in game? Thank you!

  11. Just to add some info: GL63 is actually a new chassis that’s similar to GP63 (shares the same cooling too) but uses all plastic material. Doesn’t sacrifice exterior build quality though – quite sturdy. It’s an upgrade compared to GL62 (GV62 shares the same chassis and cooling, but with CFL-H). That being said, the QA+QC are still questionable in GL series considering that GL line has some horror stories on longevity in quality.

    1. Yes I wasn’t too pleased to have the space bar issue. Seem it’s a known issue yet MSI still push out laptops with the old keyboard.
