    1. Parallel. Connecting in series adds up voltage by connecting Battery 1 positive to battery 2 negative.
      Parallel is when you connect battery 1 positive to battery 2 positive and connect source to both (via a bridge) positive and negative. Voltage remains, power output increases. More amp hours means more connected like this.

      Remove one battery and you still have power. But less amp hours. In serial, one dead battery means the whole pack stops working.

  1. Would it be possible to power the bike with a typical Lead-Acid Battery? (Given that the battery has the same voltage/Max current/Ah ratings)

    1. yes. I used 8 12v 8aH lead acid sla batteries from cabellas 4s2p for a total of 16aH and 48v. You’ll need to build a little bike trailer for this though as these are heavy or use baskets in front and back of bike I guess.

  2. you can reuse LION cells from laptop battery, test it and reuse… then you will get LION cells for free 🙂

      for me it is easy because on company where I work there is electro scrap for exhausted/faulty batteries. 80% of cells can be reused from that batteries.I made lot of power banks :from reused LION cells 🙂

  3. i highly recommend buying sony vtc6 nmc batteries (nmc is same kind used by tesla and tesla power walls and are the best chemistry in the world right now). You can buy them for $4/cell at liionwholesale.com which is where I bought mine. I’m not affiliated with them but they have great reviews on reddit and with the vaping forums communities.

    1. also, these cells put out up to 30a PER CELL so great for robotics projects or power drills battery upgrades etc.
