I want to get out on the lake today. This is a brushless. This high speed, uh speedboat by udrc. I think the model 9 is a 980 now i'm. Not able to do my typical table reviews yet just because of the living circumstances. Until the new house is finished, so you know, i'll tell you this comes with the charger and it comes with um. You know your little uh stand for the boat and a little screwdriver. I don't think it comes with an extra prop. I didn't notice that in the box, but anyway, i'll show you this boat, real, quick and then we'll. Take it out here for a test run. This is a rather inexpensive boat for being brushless, so you know: we'll see how it works. It does have the anti capsizing or self riding feature. So if you flip this boat over, you give it reverse and forward it'll flip itself back over. So you don't do any rescue missions on this boat, which is really really beneficial that it has that feature. Now. You just take these little uh knobs and turn them, and then the top comes off and then there's also another um piece here. I don't have it completely clamped down the unlock and then this piece is what seals it and it comes off. You can see inside you've got a 3s 1500 milliamp hour. Lipo battery does use this almost sema style connector, which i'm not a fan of, but the charger just charges off the 3s balance plug.
You get your receiver, your steering, servo your brushless motor and the esc is up here in the front of the boat and your liquid cooling, which the water, i believe, comes in the back and goes out the side here, but it could be reversed and that will Keep the esc cool so that it does not overheat on this little boat, so pretty basic in terms of how these boats are let's. Look at the controller really quick at the controller next to me here and the controller seems to be pretty decent. It'S got a foam grip which i'm always a fan of just use buttons, get your throttle, trim um high low there, which i think might must be um like dual rates: i'm thinking. The instruction manual is all in chinese. You have to bear with me. This is my first run, of course, and this is your trim here. Steering trim – and this is probably just your you know up and down throttle trim, so h and l should just be actually not dual rates just trim, so you're gon na trim it. You know if it's easing forward or wanting to go in reverse, pretty sure that's what it is. You don't usually see dual rates on these speed, boats and there's your off and on button a switch, and it takes four double a batteries on this boat. So again, it's got self riding uh, which is nice. You get to put this rubber piece on the front that's a to help protect if you would collide with something and you won't damage the hull.
So yeah let's take this boat out i'm, going to try to get it out here where someone's been fishing there's a little spot to access down there there's a lot of debris in the water, so i'll just ease it out there, and i don't know if this This most of these boats and i'm looking to see, if i see it on this one, but most of these we'll see when i get the power on a lot of these, have the anti you know the prop won't come on unless you get it in the Water we'll see if this one has it or not, that's a safety feature. So you don't bump the throttle and chop your finger up. We'Ll see if this has that, once i get it powered up, so what i'm going to do is i'm going to stop the video, so i can get the battery plugged in get it all sealed up properly and we'll get out here in the lake first test Run so i'll be right back guys, all right guys so got it all connected up here, as you can see that safety feature it does not have so be mindful you bump the throttle with this powered up, you can whack your finger, pretty good, even cut yourself, Possibly so be very careful now it's a little wet because i tried to get in over here where i was talking a while ago and it got caught up in all this junk and really bind it up.
Thankfully, i was able to reach it from the shore. So i'm, going to do it right here on these rocks, where the water is very clear, so we'll take it out here and we'll drive it around here and see what it does now. I won't drive it really long because you know i'd. Hopefully, i can guess about how long it'll last, because these boats don't usually run very long in the low power state it goes into, is so you know it's low and you can recover it, but i've had some that don't even make it back to the shore And it always worries me, though it's not a common problem, so we'll run around here for a few minutes and see how this little, i say, budget, because a brushless speedboats can run very expensive, and this one is not so we'll toss it in here and we'll See i did get a chance over here to test the self riding, so i threw it in. I threw it in upside down and itself riding does work so let's toss it in here and see how the boat does so there. It is upside down. Guys didn't mean to do that. Let'S do back and forward, and there we go. Oh yeah. Oh it looks like it. It flipped over let's there we go. Oh boy, this. This thing is flipping over awfully easily i'm gon na ease it it's, not real choppy. Today. It is wow this thing flips over very easily i've had several of these speed boats, both brushless and brushed and i've had ones uh.
My failing big 4s a boat is super fast and i've. I'Ve never had one that capsizes like this. This is not very rough. Water Music, it's doing fine now, but boy see there, it did it again: it's capsizing, thankfully it's, not a problem Music yeah. This is this is pretty quick but oh it's, almost like it's getting like it's taking on water or something there we go huh yeah. I got ta say i'm, not real impressed with this boat i'm disappointed. These speed boats are usually pretty good and look it's really doing fine there there's times where it's just constantly flipping. I see it's doing good here in circles. Full speed, there's it's, capsized again there. We go it's capsized again huh wow, you know i i've seen ud boats brushed ones. I capsized again. Applause i've seen these at my local uh farm supply, the brushed versions, and i always thought they looked cool but i've never had a boat. The cap size like this, it looks like a nice design. I don't know if it's just because of the size, so my fei loon is a similar. Oh, it looked like it just sunk on me. There let's see if we can wow. This is i'm gon na bring it on in guys, wow that sunken and came back up it completely went under the controller was beeping because it lost contact, wow, it's, taking on water bad guys at times that somehow the water got back out.
I thought for sure i lost it there. You can see the water pouring out of the the cooling wow. That is really weird. It still works. Nothing'S damaged i'm, really disappointed. I said: i've never had a ut i've had failure and i got a racent volantex, yellow boat and it's also is awesome and that one doesn't even have self righting, and i had it flipped one time in midair and land upright, but this boat is terrible. It keeps it keeps it when it goes: fine, it's, pretty quick it's about what i thought it would be speed wise, maybe a hair slower than i thought, but it's it's constantly flipping over it. So it completely submerged and then popped itself back up. So i think it took on some water, then expelled it. I thought the boat was a goner yeah. I can't recommend this one i'm shocked because i thought for sure i'd be able to recommend it, because these boats are usually really good, but this one, you know it just takes on water a bit too much, and it just keeps capsizing i. This is not rough water. If i was out here with a bunch of white calves and it was pretty windy earlier today and it was constantly flipping over because of that, i would just say: well, you know, i'm, probably not driving the boat in proper conditions. This is rather calm, there's, just a gentle breeze. Today, i've driven my big failure in the racing on much rougher water and never had a problem.
The the big failures capsized on me just a couple of times, but this was just constant and, like i said, i've, never seen a i've, never seen a boat actually go under and then pop back up. So i don't know what happened there, but everything looks fine. I didn't nothing looks damaged or anything it just looks like this is a poor design. This is another example of how did this get past testing when they tested this boat didn't? They see this thing constantly sinking. I mean it's, not like i'm doing something, weird um. My guess is they design this stuff and then they they get it out and then they finally test it and then they're like well, we got we got to sell it. You know we've already designed it. So then they just don't worry about uh trying to actually fix the problem. I want to make sure i don't follow these rocks guys so yeah i got ta, say i'm pretty darn disappointed in this boat. You know it is pretty quick and there's times. I was doing circles and steering it was just it was doing great, but i don't understand why it was constantly flipping itself, but even if it was flipping over a few times, i could live with that. The flipping over constantly was a huge problem combining that with the fact that it actually submerged and that beeping you heard was the controller saying it lost contact the signal couldn't make it to the water, but now once it popped back up, it reestablished the connection.
All right guys well that wraps up the rather brief review of the ud boat there's. If i keep driving this i'm gon na, lose it and then i'm gon na finish the video so not going to do any more with that be sure to subscribe to the channel. You know i'm going to give you an honest opinion like i am here uh. You know so you know this is a. This is a no go be sure to scr. You know, subscribe click that bell.
