Motorola's fresh Moto G 5G Plus has just launched globally, offering some pretty good specs, a quad lens camera and that ultra-fast connectivity from just £299. Here's a closer look at the budget-friendly Moto G 5G Plus ahead of my full review, to see if it's possibly one of the best new smartphones of 2020.
If you have around £300 to spend on a new device, this Motorola handset could be strong competition for Sony's Xperia 10 ii. It's not fully waterproof and you don't have an OLED screen, but you do still get HDR10 visuals for movies – and that same 21:9 widescreen finish. Meanwhile the Snapdragon 765 chipset means better gaming chops here on the Moto G 5G. You should be able to blast through the likes of PubG Mobile and Call of Duty, as well as other Android games.
Battery life should be another winner thanks to the 5000mAh battery, matching Motorola's own G8 Power. As for the camera tech, that's a 48MP primary lens backed by an ultra-wide, macro and depth sensor. I'll be testing the camera out in full for my review of the Motorola G 5G Plus.
